About Dr. Pete Harris:

Dr. Pete Harris was a pediatrician in Laconia and a founder of Lakes Region Mental Health Center in 1966.  In his medical practice, he recognized the need for children to receive mental health care with primary care- in one place. He was a true visionary. 52 years later, we still believe that integrated physical and mental health care provides better outcomes for our patients.

LRMHC presents this award in memory of Dr. Harris to an individual who promotes increased awareness, sensitivity, understanding, and acceptance of mental health issues in the Lakes Region through public education. The award winner is chosen by the Lakes Region Mental Health Board of Directors.
