Each year, the Pete Harris award goes to someone in the LRMHC service area that models the advocacy efforts of Dr. George “Pete” Harris. Dr. Harris recognized the need to educate people about mental illness and traveled throughout our local communities doing so. He formed a small organization that in 1966 became Lakes Region Mental Health Center.
If you know or work with an individual who models Helen’s example and you would love to see them recognized in public at the LRMHC Annual Meeting Event on October 27th at the Merrill Place Conference Center at Plymouth State University in Plymouth.
